Aaaaaaaand I'm sick. Currently freezing and shaking my way through work with my throat full of glass, but I don't know how much of it is actual illness and some unholy combination of period and weekend screaming and that bag of chips I ate last night sitting poorly. Toughing it out! I just took a week off, and I'm trying to take it easy/keep to myself, answering my little emails as they come in. I'll bail later if I have to, but I'm still trying to make good impressions here.

Only managed to make it through the first hour of September to Remember before crashing out last night, which should have been my first clue that something was amiss, but I just chalked it up to ongoing sleep deficit until I woke up mad chilled and achy. Besides, I made sure to stay up long enough to get to the important part: the C&C/FTR faceoff about which all I have to say is that, while the botch is unfortunate and I hope he's healing up well, Christian dropping BECAUSE I'M RICH and immediately shattering Dax's nose into bloody dust is kind of an all-timer amazing mic drop of a moment and I am honoured to have been present for it. Also: very telling just how long he let Adam ramble on for before finally interrupting to grab his wrist. Also also: it's absolutely Cage & Cope, for a whole host of reasons.

7. How Well Do You Know Your Neighbors?

There are the ones on the left, who have lovely dogs and a nice yard, but occasionally run equipment to maintain said nice yard so my mom bitches about them incessantly, and there are the ones on the right, who constantly have loud screaming matches with the windows open and once their truck exploded in the night. Mom has no problems with those ones, oddly; just their big dead tree that she is convinced is going to fall on my bedroom one day. I am fine with not knowing my neighbours.

Okay, back to work. Or maybe I'll just quietly read at my desk for a bit? Cough cough.

I HAVE RETURNED FROM MY ALL OUT ODYSSEY. Saw four live wrestling events, three movies, two plays, and did three escape rooms for good measure (nix and I remain undefeated!). My feet are busted to hell and I am full from the crown to the toe with the spirit of amazing graps that I will be posting about VERY EXCESSIVELY in the days to come as I watch back all the shows I was in attendance at. Gonna really milk it, it's gonna be so obnoxious, you're all gonna be so sick of me!!!

Also I got to keep my chair from All Out?? How the hell did I land those tickets, man. WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITH AN OLD MAN YAOI CHAIR???

Goals for today remain modest: get settled back in at work (I at least managed to empty my inbox yesterday), get something nice together for supper, and then settle in with a rewatch of September to Remember. My bedroom is an absolute disaster after the way I left, but I needed eleven goddamn hours of sleep last night because I got stuck in the Toronto airport overnight and now I'm bleeding, so care for the self comes before care for the self's immediate surroundings. Tomorrow is another day!

6. Do You Spend Enough Time With Other People?

I just spent Saturday with over 12,000 people, I think that'll do me for a while.

Getting older, it turns out, is a lot of 'watching your parents also get older' in uncomfortable ways. Both my parents have struggled with new health issues over the past several years (my mom's stalemate with cancer hasn't been easy on her body, for one thing) and I have to say I do not care for it.

She's in a rehab centre/nursing home at the moment, after having been kept in hospital for a couple of weeks for kidney damage. The culprit is apparently one of the chemo drugs, so it can't be helped, but I'm not at all clear on the details - neither of my parents hear all that well, so aren't really catching whatever the doctor is saying.

My sister is flying up today to stay with them for a bit, since she can work remotely, and try and help out and also get the details. The one part of being back in Wales I don't love is being so far away from my family, but oh well.
